Whenever I plan to travel to Japan, I always look forward to going on an eye-opening confectionery tour. Japanese sweets are so delicate that you can't find another sweet alternative to replace its significance. I still keep exploring as many Japanese cookies and candies as I can. One part of my most unforgettable snackhood is Japanese Kit Kat. Japanese unbelievably turn a western confectionery into a unique Nipponese delicacy.
Today, I would like to introduce some of my favorite Japanese flavors of Kit Kat, which are also Singaporean must-bring-back gifts!
They are a treat for the eye and also a revival for the tastebuds. Each bite can make you feel a delicious blend of milk chocolate and banana flavor. And you can tell that it’s not made of some artificial low-quality banana. Rather, this sweet is crispy and fully fruit-flavored.
The words “Tokyo Banana” appear on the chocolate in Japanese characters, along with the iconic banana and Kit Kat logo.
It is made with Hokkaido melon and mascarpone cheese powder sandwiched between classic Kit Kat wafers and covered in white chocolate. I have to admit that its smooth and sophisticated taste of melon infused with the creamy flavor of mascarpone cheese did melt my tongue and even my heart.
Japanese Kit Kat Sake
Are you a big fan of Japanese alcohol? Then this chocolate can become a head-turner to you. These two limited editions of Kit Kat Japanese Sake features a sake powder infusion contained between crunchy vanilla wafers wrapped in a thick coating of white chocolate. You can taste the distinct sake flavor from inside. I know 0.4% alcohol snacks may not be enough, but when you can't help but keep eating it, you will definitely feel its essence and probably get drunk by this chocolate.
Yokohama Strawberry Cheesecake
This limited-edition Yokohama Strawberry Cheesecake KitKat is a winning combination of fruit and cheese. The layered strawberry-flavored and cheese-infused cream are sandwiched between crispy wafers and are smothered in cheese-flavored white chocolate. This chocolate is definitely the most unique and most balanced flavor of Kit Kat I've ever tasted in my life.
The sour taste of yogurt is pretty memorable. Also, it's ornamented with a refreshing taste of mint mixed with the sweetness of white chocolate. Its taste can help cool you down during summer heat.
